Kevin is Churchwarden of St Peter & St Paul, Charing’s parish church. Charing Church is part of the G7 Benefice. Church wardens are volunteers. In the church of England they co-operate with the priest in charge to ensure the running of the parish. The role has expanded since the 14th century and includes responsibility for various aspects of the building, administration and services in the parish. Kevin is also helps run the informal Cornerstone services at Little Chart
Kevin is also President of the Charing History Society
With a family of three teenage boys there is a little more spare time than when they were younger. In so Kevin also enjoys gardening, keeping bees, reading, going to the theatre, walking and cooking,
Kirsten’s main pastime is family history. Not only identifying ancestors but trying to add details to their lives and putting them in historical context. She runs a family history web site for the Douse family, her maiden name. Making links with new cousins is always interesting and through DNA testing she is expanding this.
Various art and craft pastimes also interst Kirsten. In recent years she has taken up spinning and weaving.
Although now teenagers their sons still need some attention. However Kirsten also enjoys gardening, keeping chickens, reading, going to the threatre, and cooking.
